The adoption process begins with completing an application. The adoption contract is to be completed after application approval and at the time of adoption. If adopting two kittens together, separate contracts are needed for each.
The adoption fee offsets some of my costs of my rescue work. It includes the spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations (rabies and distemper), combo testing for FIV/FeLV, medications, food, cat litter and other needed supplies.
Adopting two kittens together is recommended as it can lead to improved social development, companionship, and reduce the burden on the owner. Kittens learn from each other, inhibit play aggression, and burn off energy through play, which can lead to less destructive behavior. For this reason if two kittens are adopted together, the total adoption fee is reduced.
